What is ToolForge?

ToolForge is a free collection of online utilities built for IT professionals, system administrators, and developers. Every tool on the site is designed to solve a real, everyday problem — whether that is checking a DNS record, generating a secure password, validating an SSL certificate, or formatting a JSON payload.

We believe that essential technical tools should be free, fast, and accessible without creating an account. No sign-up, no subscription, no catch.

What tools do we offer?

ToolForge provides 65+ free online tools across eight categories:

  • Security tools — password generators, hash tools, JWT decoder, bcrypt, HMAC, API key generator and secure password sharing.
  • Developer tools — JSON formatter, Base64 encoder/decoder, regex tester, text diff, YAML converter, Markdown previewer and more.
  • DNS & domain tools — DNS lookup, MX checker, SPF/DKIM/DMARC analysis, WHOIS, domain expiry and propagation checks.
  • IP & network tools — IP geolocation, CIDR calculator, subnet calculator, port checker, ping, traceroute and MAC address lookup.
  • Web & SSL tools — SSL certificate checker, HTTP header inspector, redirect chain tracer, website status and response time checker.

All tools are free to use, and none require you to create an account or provide personal information.

Privacy and data

We take privacy seriously. Most tools on ToolForge operate entirely within your browser — no data is sent to our servers. Where a tool requires a server-side request (such as a DNS lookup or SSL certificate check), we process only the minimum information needed and do not permanently store your inputs.

How is ToolForge funded?

ToolForge is free to use and funded by advertising revenue through Google AdSense. Display advertisements help us cover server and hosting costs and continue developing new tools. We aim to keep advertising unobtrusive.
